Hello, my friends. Here are the 2022-2023 Italian Serie A Week 18 RESULTS / Eighteenth Round on Friday 13, Saturday 14, Sunday 15, and Monday 16 January 2023.
✅ 10 Serie A Game Completed
⚽️ Serie A Top Scorer up to Week 18 (Updated on Monday 16 January 2023)
Napoli humiliated Juventus at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. Napoli crushed Juventus with an astonishing 5-1, a result not seen in 33 years! It was in 1990 and Napoli’s Bigon beat Juventus 5-1 in the final of the Italian Super Cup. Juventus saw their streak of eight consecutive victories without conceding a thunderous break, also risks being hooked by Inter, in case of success against Hellas Verona. Surely, this is a strong victory for Napoli on their quest for the Scudetto and a tough lesson for Juventus.
Cremonese fell and remain in the last position after losing against Monza at the Giovanni Zini Stadium. Fireworks match at ”Zini”: Monza wins three goals ahead thanks to Ciurria and Caprari (2), then a reaction from Cremonese with Ciofani and Dessers which however is not enough to avoid yet another defeat. In the standings, a leap for Monza rise to 21 points while the Grigiorossi remained at the bottom at 7. Monza with a high motivation to face Juventus on Thursday 19th January at the Allianz Stadium against for the Coppa Italia’s Round of 16.
Mission accomplished. Inter defeated Hellas Verona at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy. Inter took home the full 3 points. Inzaghi’s men, therefore, surpass Verona thanks to the goal that arrived at the opening of the match with Lautaro Martínez and reach Juventus in third position. Inter hit the fifth consecutive result, the gialloblù instead interrupt the mini positive streak and do not move the standings remaining at 9 points. In the next round, Inter will play at home against Empoli while Hellas Verona will host Lecce.
Lecce and AC Milan ended with a draw at the Via del Mare Stadium. Lecce is coming from an excellent moment, a draw and a victory since the restart of the championship. Lecce come from five useful results and the last defeat dates back to the end of October. AC Milan grabbed only 1 point and not an ideal result. However, the draw is more like a defeat for Lecce who were leading 2-0. Napoli’s resounding victory over Juventus gives Milan the opportunity to return to second place alone.
Roma passed the home test defeating Fiorentina. The hero is Argentinean forward Paulo Dybala scoring both goals and assisted by forward Tammy Abraham. Roma hooking up Atalanta and Lazio with 34 points. The fight for Europe is getting exciting, with six teams in four points. The match was also decided by Dodó’s expulsion in the 23rd minute for a second yellow card: the Viola, outnumbered, only found opportunities in the final, when Rui Patricio moved up the game by saving on Kouamé. Abraham first serves a ball from the chest that Joya bags with a powerful shot from the edge, then the former Chelsea player serves the Argentine a ball that is easy to bag that closes the match.

Lazio returned to success with two goals in added time: Mattia Zaccagni broke the deadlock from a penalty in overtime in the first half, Felipe Anderson doubled the lead before the full whistle. Both teams are experiencing a negative period: the neroverdi have not won since 24 October and come from three defeats in a row, the biancocelesti have collected just one point in three league games.
Lazio opened the score in the 45+3 minute before ending the first half. Referee Luca Pairetto gave a penalty to Lazio conceded by Jeremy Toljan following a handball. Mattia Zaccagni converted a penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner.

Stats before the game. Lazio have won twice as many matches against Sassuolo in Serie A as the neroverdi: 10 biancocelesti victories against five neroverdi – three draws complete the picture, the last of which arrived in April 2019. After winning just one of their first seven matches at the Mapei Stadium against Lazio in Serie A, Sassuolo have achieved success in the most recent two, both played in 2021. Sassuolo come to this challenge from three consecutive defeats: the neroverdi have not lost four games in a row in Serie A since November 2016, under the guidance of Eusebio Di Francesco. With 16 points after 17 games of the season, Sassuolo are experiencing their second worst season at this point in Serie A: only in their debut league, in 2013/14, did the neroverdi count fewer points after the same number of games (14).
