Italian Soccer Serie A

Hello, my friends. Here are the 2022-2023 Italian Serie A Week 26 RESULTS / Twenty-sixth Round on Friday 10, Saturday 11, Sunday 12, and Monday 13 March 2023.   Napoli are the sole leader with 68 points are +18 lead over Inter with 50 points in the 2nd position. Inter fell against Spezia. At the moment, Napoli have a five-game lead over Inter and therefore, according to the calendar, the decisive match to claim the Scudetto could be that of May 3 away at Udinese.

The first win for Spezia against Inter in six games in Serie A (D1, L4). Inter have conceded at least 24 goals after 13 Serie A TIM away games for the first time since 1947/48.

Empoli have lost three games in a row in Serie A TIM for the first time since December 2018 (four on that occasion under Giuseppe Iachini). Five of the six goals scored by Rodrigo Becão in Serie A TIM have come with headers from corners.

Atalanta have failed to score for three consecutive Serie A TIM matches for only the second time in the Gasperini era: the first in October 2018.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the Serie A TIM player who has been involved in the most goals (26) in all competitions this season: overtaking teammate Victor Osimhen, with 25.

Lazio have reached 15 clean sheets this season in Serie A TIM: only Barcelona (18) has done better in the top 5 European leagues.

Bologna made nine shots in the first half against Lazio: the Bolognese had recorded more shots in the first half of the game this season in Serie A TIM only on 27 January against Spezia (11).

Lecce have recorded two consecutive home games without finding a goal in the same top flight for the first time since March 2009 (in that case three against Inter, Lazio and Reggina).

It was 4 November 2020 against Genoa that Torino did not score at least two goals in the first half hour of play in an away Serie A TIM match.

The team that made the most shots was Inter, with 28 total shots. After the Nerazzurri there are Juventus and Milan, both with 24 points.

The player who recorded the fastest sprint speed was the Sampdoria defender Alessandro Zanoli (36.15 Km/h), followed by Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta (34.25 Km/h) and Festy Ebosele from Udinese (33.90 Km /h).

Hellas Verona was the team that completed the most dribbles: 17 in total for the Gialloblù, followed by Sassuolo with 14 and Lazio with 13 dribbles.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Sampdoria, 20th position with 12 points and a negative goal difference of -28
Juventus, 9th position with 35 points and a positive goal difference of +20

Juventus beat Sampdoria in the Serie A Week 26 game on Sunday 12 March 2023 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Italy. Juventus rediscovered success in the league after the defeat in Rome and extends the streak of consecutive victories at home to three. Juventus climbed from the 9th to the 7th place in the standings, overtaking Bologna and Torino and momentarily moving to nine points from the fourth place occupied by AC Milan, on the field tomorrow against Salernitana.

This is the seventh defeat in the last ten games for Sampdoria, which remains last at 12 points in the company of Cremonese, remaining twelve lengths away from salvation.

Juventus opened the score in the 11th minute. Bremer defeated Sampdoria goalkeeper Martin Turk with a headed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Filip Kostic with a cross following a corner conceded by Bram Nuytinck.

Problems for Sampdoria as Juventus increased the score for the 2-0 in the 26th minute with Adrien Rabiot with a headed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Fabio Miretti with a cross following a corner conceded by Bruno Amione.

Sampdoria shortened the distance for the 2-1 in the 31st minute. Tommaso Augello defeated Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner.

Sampdoria equalized for the 2-2 in the 32nd minute. Filip Djuricic gave hope to his teammates with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Alessandro Zanoli.

Juventus took the lead again in the 65th minute. Adrien Rabiot scored with a left-footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Nicolò Fagioli.

Juventus had the chance to score a fourth goal in the 69th minute though Dušan Vlahović failed to convert a penalty hitting the left post with a left-footed shot.

Juventus sealed the victory in the 94th minute. The goal by Matìas Soulé

✅ Stats before the game:
Sampdoria arrive at the Allianz Stadium in a desperate search for points for a salvation that appears increasingly difficult. In fact, there are twelve lengths that separate Dejan Stankovic’s team from Spezia in seventeenth place. Sampdoria hasn’t won since 4 January at Sassuolo and since then they have racked up six defeats and only three draws. The one against the neroverdi is one of the two successes in this championship for the blucerchiati, while the other one came in October with Cremonese, always away.
