Italian Soccer Serie A Supports 100% Italy Team
Getting to know our players in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. It’s time to meet Forward Lorenzo Insigne.
Lorenzo Insigne was born in Naples, Italy on 4th June 1991. He spent his youth at Napoli but then played on loan at Cavese, Foggia, playing as a winger before making a permanent move to Pescara in Serie B. He won the league title with Pescara and Napoli decided to recall him back into the team in the summer of 2012, winning the Italian cup with Napoli.
Insigne played several times with the U-20 and U-21 national teams. Italy head coach Cesare Prandelli gave Insigne his first cap in the senior side against Malta on 11th September 2012 in Modena. He scored his first goal for Italy on 14th August 2013 in a friendly against Argentina. Insigne is part of the 23-man squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
