Serie A RESULTS Week 28, Italian Serie A ROUNDUP 2013 – 2014 for Round 28 on Saturday 15, Sunday 16, and Monday 17 March 2014, matchday 28

Hello my friends.  Here is the Serie A ROUNDUP for
the
Serie A Week 28, 2013 – 2014 Season on  Saturday 15, Sunday 16, and Monday 17 March
2014, matchday 28.

One thing not changing is the Serie A leadership. Juventus are the
absolute leaders, practically without rival.  Juventus  keeping the first position and almost collecting the Scudetto after defeating Genoa at the Ferraris Stadium.  Two goals ruled out for Juventus against Genoa.   Then, incredible, Genoa could have taken the lead after Referee Mazzoleni granted a penalty to Genoa and goalkeeper Buffon stopping Emanuele Calaio’s penalty in the 72nd minute!!!  Simply put, Juventus are on a solo flight to the Scudetto with only one apparently menace: AS Roma.  The gap with Juventus now are of 14 points!!  Roma will have to fight hard to keep the second position
because Napoli are desperately following them.  Roma with 58 points and
Napoli with 55 points… just 3 points difference.  It was the second
lost for Roma, and now, no margin of error…  Roma have the advantage
of playing the home game against Udinese at the Olimpico Stadium.

The race towards the 3rd position continuing!  Inter causing an upset at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium by opening the score against Hellas Verona in the 13th minute with forward Rodrigo Palacio.  A disappointment for Verona conceding another goal in the 63rd minute by Jonathan.  This victory helps Inter jump to the 4th position, however, Fiorentina taking back the 4th position after defeating Chievo Verona. Fiorentina getting a penalty, but David Pizarro’s penalty was saved by goalkeeper Michael Agazzi.

Great achievement for Parma winning their 5th consecutive away games!  Parma defeating AC Milan in San Siro with a 2-4.  The ex Milan player forward Antonio Cassano scoring two goals.  The final signature is by Jonathan Biabiany scoring the 4th goal of the game in the last minute.  Definitely, it’s a crisis for AC Milan who were not only eliminated from the Champions League this season, but they won’t even make it to European competitions next season either……  bad, bad, bad situation for this U N R E C O G N I Z A B L E Milan.  Milan going down from the 10th to the 12th position.  It’s a disaster for Milan also being contested by the fans for the poor performance.  Milan getting a blow in the 8th minute when Referee Celi gives a red card to goalkeeper Christian Abbiati resulting in the penalty converted by Cassano.  Milan remaining with 10 players.

A ray of hope for Sassuolo leaving the 20th position after defeating Catania at the Mapei Stadium.  Sassuolo jump to the 19th position while Catania go down to the 20th position.  Another ray of hope is for Livorno leaving the relegation zone after defeating Bologna with a 2-1.  Livorno jump to the 17th position while Bologna going down to the relegation zone in the 18th position.

Napoli not giving up to the 3rd position and claimed the full 3 points at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium in the 90th minute!   A goal by forward Gonzalo Higuain enough to secure the victory and the race towards the second position.

It’s a black crisis, a turmoil, a disaster season for AC Milan falling from grace.  There are only 10 more games to play.  Milan not only eliminated from the Champions League, but not even able to redeem themselves and instead of defeating Parma at the San Siro Stadium, BAM!  A slap with 4 goals!

AC Milan won’t be in the Champions League next season, not even Europa League….. this defeat brings down Milan from the 10th to the 11th position while Parma are rocking big time towards a spot in Europa League.

AC Milan starting with the wrong foot.  Imagine, in the 5th minute, Referee Domenico Celi grants a penalty to Parma conceded by Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati for a foul on Parma forward Ezequiel Schelotto.   Problems starting for Milan  coach Clarence Seedorf not having enough time to see second goalkeeper Marco Amelia warm up and readjust his lineup.  The sacrificed was midfielder Michael Essien to make space for Amelia.  Taking the penalty spot is the “ex” Antonio Cassano and you bet he must had pray to convert it, and yes, he did!  Cassano defeating goalkeeper Amelia with a right footed shot in the bottom left corner in the 9th minute.

Milan equalizing in the 56th minute following a corner with assist by Kaka to midfielder Adil Rami for the headed goal  in the bottom right corner.

Milan shortening the distance in the 76th minute when Referee Celi granting a penalty conceded by Parma midfielder Joel Obi for a foul on Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo.  Taking the penalty spot is forward Mario Balotelli defeating Parma goalkeeper Antonio Mirante with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.

Also, a memorable moment for forward Amauri with a brilliant right footed goal in the 78th minute with assist by Schelotto. Parma again taking the lead.

Adding more pain to the injury, Jonathan Biabiany scoring the 4th goal in the 95th minute!  Biabiany defeating goalkeeper Amelia with a headed shot to the center…. by now, a black curtain falling in San Siro.  Simply put, only praises for Parma and whistles for Milan….

What else to say for this chaotic Milan?  Do I blame Seedorf? Not at
all, this “poor” Milan is a result of former coach Massimiliano
Allegri and cannot even understand how in the world Allegri thought
midfielder Andrea Pirlo was not good for Milan…. mamma mia!!!

Definitely,
it was the time for redemption for the ex AC Milan player forward
Antonio Cassano.  Yep, Cassano slapping his ex team scoring 2 goals!  A
joyous moment for him, and for Coach Roberto Donadoni.

Here is AC MILAN official starting lineup by coach Clarence Seedorf:

AC MILAN (4-2-3-1):
Abbiati; Abate, Mexes, Bonera, Emanuelson; Essien, De Jong; Poli,
Montolivo, Kakà; Balotelli.

Serie A Week 28, Italian Serie A PREVIEW 2013 – 2014 for Round 28 on Saturday 15, Sunday 16, and Monday 17 March 2014, matchday 28

By Anna Italia
Follow me in Twitter

Hello my friends.  Here is the Serie A PREVIEW for
the
Serie A Week 28, 2013 – 2014 Season on  Saturday 15, Sunday 16, and Monday 17 March
2014, matchday 28.

I hope you are all doing fine.  So many expectations in this round especially from AC Milan to see their reaction after their elimination of the UEFA Champions League.  Milan were the only Serie A team in Champions League and now are out defeated by Spain La Liga team Atletico de Madrid.

One thing not changing is the Serie A leadership. Juventus are the absolute leaders, practically without rival.  The Scudetto almost a done deal for Juventus.  As for the Europa League, a little suprise for Juventus because they got a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina.  Only one of them will qualify to the Quarterfinals and will be decided on March 20.  Not a good news for Napoli losing at the Dragao Stadium against FC Porto.  Juventus will play the away game against Genoa at the Ferraris Stadium.

Another expectation in this round is to see how AS Roma will react after losing last week against Napoli.  The gap with Juventus now are of 14 points!!  Roma will have to fight hard to keep the second position because Napoli are desperately following them.  Roma with 58 points and Napoli with 55 points… just 3 points difference.  It was the second lost for Roma, and now, no margin of error…  Roma have the advantage of playing the home game against Udinese at the Olimpico Stadium.

We can expect a tough battle in the European zone in this round.  Not much difference between the 3 candidates. Fiorentina with 45 points holding the 4th position and they might lose it in case of losing to Chievo Verona at the Artemio Franchi.  Inter have 3 choices. Inter either keep the 5th position by defeating Hellas Verona or risk going down to the 6th position  in case of Parma defeating AC Milan at San Siro.  The third option for Inter is hope for Fiorentina to lose and jump to the 4th position!  Here is where most of the action will be happening the battle of Fiorentina, Inter, and Parma. Now, here is the thing.  Parma might jump to the 4th position in case of Fiorentina and Inter losing their respective games!

Critical situation is in the relegation zone.  Sassuolo practically saluting Serie A being in the 20th position with only 18 points!  Sassuolo are the team conceding most goals in this season.

Here is the situation.  Juventus 1st position with 72 points and a
positive goal difference of +44.  AS Roma, 2nd position with 58 points
