🏆👉 Juventus and Nantes ended the first leg with a draw. Juventus win the UEFA Europa League Playoff Second Leg game qualifying for the Round of 16 on Thursday 23 February 2023 at the Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes, France. Juventus won thanks to Super Argentinean Hero Ángel Di María with a hat-trick and qualified for the round of 16 of the Europa League. First goal in the opening, thanks to a spectacular conclusion from the edge of the area, the second goal from a penalty, while the one that closes the match, the Argentine scores in the second half after a beating and hitting in the box.
The first leg of the round of 16 will be played in two weeks. The opponent Juventus will find out tomorrow, in the draw that will take place at 12.
✅ Stats before the game. Juventus could be eliminated for the fifth consecutive European knockout stage in as many seasons. Prior to this run, which began in 2018-19 against Ajax in the Champions League, they had never been eliminated from more than two consecutive European knockout ties in major competitions. Juventus have lost their last two European away games against French opponents (Lyon in 2020 and PSG in 2022), already the longest away losing streak against teams from this country. Nantes have conceded goals in all of their last 10 home games in European competitions: the last clean sheet came against an Italian team, 1-0 in the first group stage of the Champions League against Lazio in 2001/02. Juventus have won just one of their last nine matches in Europe (D2 L6), conceding an average of two goals per game over this period. They have lost all of their last three away games in European competition and have not reached four in a row since October 2001 and March 2002.
