Inter v Verona stadium opening times

MILAN – Tickets are still on sale for Inter v Hellas Verona, which kicks off this Sunday evening at 20:45 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. Tickets can be purchased online at www.inter.it/tickets and at over 500 vivaticket sales points, a list of which can be found at this page: www.inter.it/puntivendita.

Gates will open at the stadium at 18:45, whilst the accreditation window will be open from 18:30. Ticket offices are scheduled to open at 17:30 and close at 20:15, unless there are still queues at that time.

To avoid lengthy waiting times, we would like to invite all fans to buy their tickets either online or at the sales points, or to get to the stadium two hours before kick-off. A valid identification document is necessary to gain access to the stadium.

Italian residents of the Veneto region will only be able to purchase tickets if they are in possession of the Fan Card. This must be shown at the gates.

It is now only possible to change the name on a ticket or season ticket online at www.inter.it/cessione and not at the stadium gates.

Any children up to the age of five that are accompanied by a ticket-holding adult will be allowed into the stadium free of charge, without an assigned seat. An identification document or birth certificate must be shown.

See you at the San Siro, and forza Inter!

Inter v Hellas Verona stat pack

Eight clean sheets in last 12 home games
Walter Mazzarri’s men have mostly been very solid defensively at home of late. They have kept the opposition at bay in eight of their last 12 fixtures in San Siro, conceding only to four opponents: Bologna (two) and Lazio (one) in 2013/14, Cagliari (four) and Napoli (two) this year.

Icardi the main man
Mauro Icardi is one of the four most decisive players in Serie A this season, together with Tevez, Destro and Gabbiadini. His goals have brought Inter nine of their 15 points, thanks to key strikes against Sassuolo (7-0), Cesena and Sampdoria (both 1-0).

Mazzarri and Mandorlini draw on bench resources
Inter are one of two teams in the 2014/15 Serie A campaign – along with Genoa – to have scored the most goal through substitutes. After 10 matches, Nerazzurri subs have hit the target four times: Guarin twice, Hernanes and Osvaldo once each. Hellas Verona are third (level with Lazio) with three goals from subs: Nico Lopez (two) and Ionita (one).

Moras’ 200th time in Italy
Vangelis Moras is set to make his 200th appearance with Italian clubs tonight. The Greek defender has logged 199 games wearing the colours of Bologna, Cesena and Hellas Verona: 125 in Serie A, 63 in Serie B and 11 in the Coppa Italia. He made his ‘Italian’ debut in Bologna 2-1 Modena on 14 August 2007.

Gialloblu marathon runners
Hellas Verona have earned more points in the second half of games than any other top-flight outfit this term. Compared to their half-time scorelines, Mandorlini’s charges have bagged seven points in the second period. They went from 1-1 to 2-1 against Palermo, 0-0 to 1-0 at Torino, 0-0 to 1-0 against Cagliari, 0-1 to 2-2 against Genoa, 0-1 to 1-1 at home to Lazio and away at Cesena. However, they lost points in the second 45 minutes on the road at Roma (0-0 to 0-2) and Napoli (1-1 to 2-6).

Mazzarri undefeated against Hellas
Walter Mazzarri is facing Hellas Verona for the fifth time in his coaching career today and is yet to lose. The Nerazzurri coach has won three and drawn one of his four previous encounters.

Ex-Inter defender Mandorlini always beaten by Nerazzurri
Andrea Mandorlini is up against Inter for the fifth time as a coach and he has always been on the losing end. The former defender plied his trade with the Nerazzurri between 1984/85 and 1990/91, racking up 274 appearances and 13 goals in the process. During his time at the club he won a Scudetto (1988/89), a UEFA Cup (1990/91) and an Italian Super Cup (1989).

Inter Campus USA kicks off in New York City

NEW YORK – Inter Campus USA, New York City has been inaugurated by Inter Campus, Pirelli Tire North America and Youri Djorkaeff Foundation in the neighbourhood of Inwood.

Congressman Charlie Rangel, deputy permanent representative of Italy to the United Nations Inigo Lambertini, Youri Djorkaeff, whose Foundation partners Inter Campus, CEO of Pirelli Tire North America Paolo Ferrari and deputy consul Dino Sorrentino officially kicked off the Inwood project by handing the children their Nerazzurri shirts.

Inter Campus is FC Internazionale Milano’s social responsibility programme. With the help of local partners, the project uses football as an educational tool to restore the right to play to disadvantaged children aged 6 to 13.

Inter Campus has steadily expanded since the first programme was launched in a Brazilian favela in 1997 and it is now present in 29 countries around the world.

Presented at the United Nations by the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations in 2012, Inter Campus is now recognised as an effective tool for development and peace. Since then it has been actively involved in the work of the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP).

The New York City programme is the first Inter Campus in USA and a reflection of football’s ever-increasing popularity in the country. Inter Campus USA is sponsored by Pirelli and run by the Youri Djorkaeff Foundation, which was set up by the former Inter player and 1998 FIFA World Cup winner with France. It was thanks to the Youri Djorkaeff Foundation, previously in contact with NTC Uptown Soccer Inc., that Inter Campus came to Inwood.

120 children aged between 6 and 13 are to take part in the programme, along with four trainer-educators who will receive regular training from the Inter Campus technical staff. The youngsters involved in the project will receive an official Inter kit every year and work with the educators throughout the school year too, since a number of after-school and tutoring activities are planned.

“The project has got off to the best possible start and we’re really enthusiastic about working with this community,” said Youri Djorkaeff. “Football is renowned for being one of the most effective instruments to promote healthy growth and human values in children regardless of their economic backgrounds. We want to help these children make their dreams come true.”

Congressman Charlie Rangel said: “I am proud to be here and help launch this exciting programme which aims to keep our kids on the straight and narrow. Thanks to the hard work of the Youri Djorkaeff Foundation, Inter Campus USA will help many young people to achieve good things in their lives. I expect it to have a big impact on our general community.”

“Being an Inter fan, it’s an absolute pleasure for me to be here,” enthused ambassador Inigo Lambertini. “I’ve been impressed by Inter Campus and I greatly admire the commitment and passion that are put into all its initiatives. Sport has the power to educate and nurture children, especially those in difficulty. Inter Campus has done a lot over the years and I would like to personally think the organisation for its work.”

Inter Campus president Carlotta Moratti declared: “Inter Campus’ presentation to the United Nations was as much the start of our journey as it was the final destination. It enabled us to discover a disadvantaged area of New York City and contribute to the well-being of children in Inwood through our project and thanks to the indispensable assistance of the Youri Djorkaeff Foundation and Pirelli Tire North America.”

“Pirelli is proud to support this and other Inter Campus projects around the world,” stated Paolo Ferrari, CEO of Pirelli North America. “We firmly believe in the power of sport to foster social change and we feel this is a good way to get involved in helping our community.”

Erick Thohir receives a special visit

APPIANO GENTILE – President Erick Thohir received a special visit today when the mayor of Appiano Gentile Carlo Pagani, deputy mayor Luigi Caldi and councillor for town planning Giuseppe Luraschi came by the Nerazzurri’s training ground to meet him.

The local representatives were keen to welcome the Nerazzurri president on behalf of the town of Appiano Gentile and they reaffirmed the town council’s willingness to help with any technical needs or requirements the club may have, offering their support following the recent renovation work carried out at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti, which is also a benefit for the town itself.

President Thohir was given a book with historic photos of the town and a silk picture bearing Appiano Gentile’s coat of arms.

The town council will invite the Nerazzurri president to an extraordinary council meeting where he will have the opportunity to meet the local population and present the club’s new projects.
