MILAN – The Brooks Brothers and Inter came together today as four Nerazzurri stars were in attendance at the store in Via San Pietro all’Orto, Milan. One of them, Mateo Kovacic, made use of the occasion to say a few words to the press on the recent Roma match, his future, new boss Roberto Mancini and Sunday’s clash with Udinese.

“It was a tough match on Sunday – Roma are a strong team. We scored twice, but it wasn’t enough. However, the players realised straight away that Mancini is a champion. He makes us work hard, but it’s more enjoyable on the pitch. The first thing he said was: ‘We are Inter’,” began the Nerazzurri midfielder.

Kovacic went on to talk about his own future: “We’re still talking and I have a contract until 2017. Things are going well and I’m happy. I’m already at a big club. I’m still young, and I can learn a lot from Mancini. I like the fact that the fans have high expectations of me. We need to play as a team to return to the top. We have a new project now, and you can’t build a team in six months, it could take two or three years.”

Finally, the Croatian gave his view on this coming Sunday’s match: “I’m going to see Stankovic and Stramaccioni again on Sunday, so that will be a great feeling. Both helped me a lot: Stramaccioni brought me to Italy and I speak to Stankovic very often.”

MILAN – Inter Academy‘s project in Japan continues to be a success. Following the renewal of the ten-year partnership with our Japanese counterparts, project manager Marco Monti will travel to Tokyo on Thursday along with Stefano Rapetti (Inter Academy’s chief of physical and scientific contents). A week-long programme has been organised. It all begins with the Inter party in Sagamihara on Saturday 6 December, before continuing with the third workshop on ‘Sensory-perceptive skills in youth football’ the following day. There will also be two training sessions (the first on Monday 8 December in Sagamihara, the second in Yoyogi on the Wednesday), which will allow the Nerazzurri staff to select the best players to take part in the internship next spring.

MILAN – There’s something special about Inter. It’s forever. When you pull on a Nerazzurri shirt, you feel special. It’s the philosophy, the spirit, I don’t even know why. Because you feel at home.”

Those words by Francesco Toldo perfectly describe the feelings you get when wearing an Inter shirt.

It was a feeling the former keeper experienced for nine seasons, from 2001 to 2010, and one he wanted to go on feeling after hanging up his gloves: from Inter Campus to Inter Forever, Francesco has continued to fly the Nerazzurri flag around the world.

With 233 appearances and 12 trophies (five Scudetti, three Coppa Italias, three Italian Super Cups and a Champions League), he continued the great line of Inter goalies.

On the day he turns 43, we at FC Internazionale would like to wish him a very happy birthday.
