👉 Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Empoli, 11th position with 20 points and a negative goal difference of -5
Udinese, 14th position with 16 points and a negative goal difference of -4
Empoli grabbing an important home victory winning the Serie A Week 16 game against Udinese on Monday 6 December 2021 at the Carlo Castellani Stadium in Empoli, Italy. Empoli making a comeback after Udinese taking the lead. Empoli react in the second half, overturning the result thanks to Stojanovic, Bajrami and Pinamonti reaching Hellas Verona with 23 points. Udinese drop, waste a couple of opportunities to stay in the game and come out again defeated by a championship away match.
Empoli, victorious in their last home match against Fiorentina, getting a second straight home win in this league.
Andrea Pinamonti scored his sixth goal in Serie A; seasonal record for him after five goals scored in seasons with Genoa and Frosinone.

✅ Stats before the game. Empoli and Udinese have drawn only one of their last nine Serie A matches (1-1 in February 2016) – three Tuscan and five Bianconeri successes complete the set. Empoli have won their last two Serie A home games against Udinese, as many successes as those recorded in all the previous 10 home games against the Friulians in the top league (5D, 3L). Udinese have lost all their last seven Serie A away games played against Tuscan teams (four goals scored, 13 conceded) – the latest success dates back to January 2015, a 2-1 against Empoli, then led by Maurizio Sarri . Udinese have won all of their last four Serie A matches against newly promoted sides, their longest streak in a row in competition against Serie B formations since 2013 (seven in that case). Udinese have not won any of their last six away games in Serie A (3D, 3L): they have not reached seven consecutive away games without winning in the competition since April 2019 (14 in that case).
News in the leadership. For the first time, we have a new leader in the Serie A. Up to the 15th position, Napoli were the sole leaders. Yet, Napoli not only losing their second game of the season defeated by Atalanta at the Maradona Stadium, but also losing the 1st position. Napoli stepping down to the 3rd position remaining with 36 points.
AC Milan claiming the sole leadership of the Serie A reaching 38 points after defeating Salernitana. The victory helping Milan claiming the first position. Salernitana remain in the last position with only 8 points. This is an added boost for AC Milan who will face the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday 7 December in San Siro against Liverpool still dreaming with the qualification to the Round of 16.
Inter defeating AS Roma at the Olimpico Stadium reaching 37 points in the 2nd position. Inter being – 1 point below AC Milan. Inter already qualified to the Champions League Round of 16 will play against Real Madrid on 7 December at the Bernabeu Stadium.
Juventus continuing the climbing to the top defeating Genoa with a 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium. Juventus climbing to the 5th position reaching 27 points same as Fiorentina after defeating Bologna.
Spezia and Sassuolo ending with a 2-2 draw. Spezia with 12 points are in the 17th position just +2 points above Genoa in the 18th position with 10 points.
