Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Frosinone, 8th position with 9 points and a positive goal difference of +1
AS Roma, 16th position with 5 points and a positive goal difference of +2

Mission accomplished. Roma won the Serie A Week 7 game on Sunday 1 October 2023 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. Mourinho got their much-needed three points, apparently ending the crisis, with the Romans reaching now  8 points in the championship. Frosinone remained with nine points defeated only once at the start of the championship.

The Roman gladiators are inspired by the chants of the fans. In the 22nd minute, Roma took the lead, Belgian forward Romelu “Big Rom” Lukaku defeated Frosinone goalkeeper Stefano Turati with a left-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Paulo Dybala.  This is Lukaku’s 60th goal in Serie A.

3 – Only Batistuta (6) and El Shaarawy (4) have scored more goals than Romelu Lukaku (3) in their first 5 appearances for Roma in Serie A, among the players who made their debut for the Giallorossi in the top-flight in the 3 points for a win era (1994/95). ✅  Stats before the game: Roma have won all four matches against Frosinone in Serie A, with an aggregate score of 12-3; the last match between the two teams in the competition dates back to 23 February 2019, when the Giallorossi won 3-2 under the guidance of the current Ciociari coach, Eusebio Di Francesco. In Frosinone’s eight matches in Serie A against teams from its own region (Roma and Lazio), the Ciociari have collected just one point: in the home draw with no clean sheets against the Biancocelesti on 21 February 2016. Roma have an ongoing run of 24 consecutive home games without defeat against newly promoted teams in the league, with 22 wins – in this run they have scored an average of 2.9 goals per game. Roma have never repeated the same result in their last eight home games in Serie A (3W, 3D, 2L) – 7-0 victory in the last league match at the Olimpico against Empoli. Frosinone have drawn both of their last two away games in Serie A (0-0 vs Udinese, 1-1 vs Salernitana) and in the top flight they have never avoided defeat in three consecutive away games. Roma have gained five points in this championship, in the era of three points for a win they have never done worse after six matches of the season (five also in 2010/11). In case of a draw or defeat in this match, it will establish its lowest record in the tournament in the era of three points for a win after the first seven matches of the season.
