Hello my friends. Here is Italy Serie RESULTS for Week 9 – Matchday 9 on Tuesday 28, Wednesday 29, and Thursday 30 October 2014.   Round 9 Serie A Roundup .

Highlight in this Week 9 round is the historical record of Juventus goalkeeper Gigi  Buffon playing his 500th game in Serie A.  A sour celebration because Genoa defeated Juventus.   It’s an ex-Milan duel because the ex Milan defender Luca Antonini scored the winner goal in the 94th minute to defeat his ex Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri directing now Juventus.

The top scorer up to Round 8: Napoli forward Jose Maria Callejon with 7 goals

Sassuolo surviving showing determination after being down by a goal to win the game.    It’s an important victory because Sassuolo winning for the first time a home game this season!   Empoli remaining without winning an away game after being so close to get it, but Sassuolo reacted.

Empoli silencing the stadium by opening the score in the 18th minute!  It is midfielder Daniele Croce to score with a aright footed shot defeating Sassuolo goalkeeper  Andrea Consigli in the bottom right corner.  The assist is by midfielder  Piotr Zielinski.   Special goal by Croce because it is his first one this season.

Sassuolo equalizing the score in the 56th minute.  It is midfielder Simone Missiroli to give a ray of hope to the fans after defeating Empoli goalkeeper Davide Bassi with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.  The assist is by midfielder Saphir Taider.

In the 58th minute, Referee Orsato granting a penalty to Sassuolo conceded by Empoli defender Elseid Hysaj after a foul on Sassuolo forward Nicola Sansone.   Next?  The unthinkable with forward Domenico Berardi failing to convert his left footed shot penalty because it hits bar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Berardi could not believe his luck, but neither the fans!

Sassuolo gaining momentum in the 61st minute by breaking the draw!   An assist by Berardi, in a sense redeeming himself after failing the penalty…. Berardi making the pass to forward Sergio Floccari who scores with a left footed shot defeating Empoli goalkeeper Bassi in the bottom left corner.

Complete redemption time for Berardi!  Yep, imagine, in the 73rd minute , Berardi scoring with a headed shot to secure the victory defeating Empoli goalkeeper in the bottom right corner.  The assist is by forward Sansone. It’s party time at the Mapei Stadium and surely Berardi deservedly celebrating with teammates.
