👉 Results from Serie A Week 13

The big clash for the leadership. Napoli defeated Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium. Surely, a precious victory for Napoli now with 35 points meaning +8 points over Atalanta. Napoli won in a comeback and consolidates the top in the standings, beating even the second in the standings Atalanta. All the goals happened in the first half: advantage from Lookman’s penalty, Victor Osimhen’s header equalized, and Eljif Elmas scored the decisive goal.

AC Milan survived the pressure defeating Spezia in San Siro Stadium.   AC Milan are back in second place in the standings with 29 points, while Spezia remains at 9 points.  Undoubtedly, it was not an easy game, but a very intense game that lights up in the last half hour of the game. In the first half, Milan passed with Theo Hernandez.  In the second half, the ex-Milan Daniele Maldini equalized with a stupendous goal.  Ironically, Daniel Maldini scored in San Siro 5333 days after his father, Paolo Maldini, back in March, 30, 2008 in Serie A.    At the end, Olivier Giroud finds the winning goal in a half overhead, but gets sent off for a double yellow card after removing his shirt while celebrating.

Lazio win the Derby della Capitale  defeating AS Roma at the Olimpico.  Stats keep favoring Lazio winning now won the last three Serie A derbies against Roma played in the first round.   Lazio conquered the Derby with a decisive goal scored by Felipe Anderson. The result is unlocked in the 29th minute, the Brazilian in goal after a lightness by Ibanez. Zaniolo hits the crossbar in the 33rd minute. In the second half, opportunities for Smalling and Felipe Anderson.  At the end, the party is all for Lazio.

Juventus won the Derby d’Italia defeating Inter at the Allianz Stadium.  Great second half for Juventus, who won a direct match for the first time this season and overtake Inter and Roma in one fell swoop, climbing to fifth place and reaching 25 points. Inter remains at 24 and drops to seventh place, losing the fifth game out of 13 played. In the next round, Juventus will play away from home against Hellas Verona, while Inter will face Bologna.

Udinese and Lecce ended with a draw at the Dacia Arena. Lecce had the lead with Lorenzo Colombo’s goal and Udinese equalized with Beto. Lecce played an excellent game especially in the first half missing the doubling. Sottil’s team extends the unsuccessful streak to five consecutive days, Baroni’s team wins a point after the two defeats against Juventus and Bologna. In the next round, Udinese will play the away game against Spezia while Lecce will play at home with Atalanta.

Salernitana and Cremonese ended with a draw at the Arechi Stadium in Salerno, Italy. Cremonese remain in the last position with only 6 points compared to Salernitana with 17 points. Salernitana and Cremonese faced each other for the first time in Serie A. Piatek unlocked the result after just three minutes, Okereke equalized on 12 ‘, Coulibaly on 38’ brings the hosts back ahead. In the second half Ciofani scored the equalizer after a penalty saved by Sepe in the 89th minute. In the next round, Salernitana, an away match on Fiorentina’s field, Cremonese will play at home against AC Milan.

Empoli defeated Sassuolo at the Carlo Castellani Stadium. It is an important victory for Empoli which moves into the standings at 14 points and only one point behind Sassuolo with 15 points. A hard-fought game and with few scoring opportunities, it was unlocked in the second half by Baldanzi’s goal, able to control a ball served by Satriano. In the next round, Empoli will visit Napoli, while Sassuolo will host Roma.

Monza defeated Hellas Verona at the  U-Power Stadium.  Monza reached 13 points in the standings, a margin of seven over the third from last. Bad news for Hellas Verona remaining in the last position with 5 points less than 4 from salvation. Carlos Augusto unlocks it, Andrea Colpani closes it. Verona resisted until the 68th minute in ten men after Magnani was sent off in the first half.  In the end, a serious injury for Stefano Sensi, carried off the pitch with his arms after a broken entry by Sulemana.  In the next round, Monza will play against Lazio in Rome, while Hellas will host Juventus at the Bentegodi Stadium.

Fiorentina defeated Sampdoria at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.  Fiorentina confirmed themselves after the away victory with Spezia and after winning the passage of the round in the Conference League. Fiorentina reached 16 points.   Sampdoria navigates the dangerous areas of the standings, remaining in 18th place with just six points. The game unlocks in the fourth minute with a goal by Giacomo Bonaventura.  In the second half, the doubling arrives on a corner kick, with Biraghi’s cross towards the near post where Milenkovic scored with a headed shot finding the second consecutive goal in the league.  In the next round, Fiorentina will host Salernitana, while Sampdoria will play in Turin against Torino.

✅   Stats before the game. The last matches in the league date back to Serie B 2020/21, both won by the Campania region (2-1 in the first leg, 1-0 in the return). Salernitana is unbeaten in nine Serie B home matches played against Cremonese, thanks to four wins and five draws. After the victories against Spezia and Lazio, Salernitana could equal her best consecutive streak in Serie A: three, recorded only in April 2021, always under Davide Nicola. Salernitana have won the last two home league games and could reach three in a row for the first time since their return to Serie A in 2021/22 – the Campania team, in fact, has not been able to do so since the 1998/99 season, when they obtained the successful in all their last five home games of the season. Cremonese has not found the goal in the last two Serie A matches and in the league does not remain for three straight matches without goals from the period between December 2020 and January 2021 (v Monza, Reggina and Chievo in Serie B).

👉 Lineup SALERNITANA (3-5-2): Sepe – Bronn, Lovato, Fazio – Mazzocchi, Candreva, Radovanovic, Coulibaly, Bradaric – Dia, Piatek.

👉 Lineup CREMONESE (3-4-1-2): Carnesecchi – Aiwu, Hendry, Lochoshvili – Quagliata – Pickel, Meite, Sernicola – Buonaiuto – Okereke, Tsadjout.
