– Cremonese 2 – 0 Spezia
41′ Daniel Ciofani
77′ Johan Vásquez
Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Spezia, 17th position with 27 points and a negative goal difference of -26
Cremonese, 19th position with 21 points and a negative goal difference of -30
This is a game for salvation. Cremonese with a sprint race win the Serie A Week 34 game on Saturday 6 May 2023 at the Giovanni Zini Stadium in Cremona, Italy. Spezia got off to a better start and seemed in total control throughout the first half, but was frozen by Ciofani’s goal just before the 45th minute. In the second half, Shomurodov hits the crossbar at the start but it’s still the Grigiorossi who find the way to the net with Johan Vasquez’s winning shot. The final assault is useless, Ballardini’s team comes out with the three points from Zini. Cremonese is back in the running for salvation, now Ballardini’s team is within 3 of Spezia and (waiting for tomorrow’s match) of Verona
Cremonese opened the score in the 41st minute. Daniel Ciofani defeated Spezia goalkeeper Dragowski with a left footed shot to the bottom right corner.

✅ Stats before the game: Cremonese and Spezia have drawn in their last two meetings between Serie A, Serie B and the Coppa Italia (including the only precedent in the first leg in the top flight), the two teams only once registering more draws in a row in these three competitions (three between 1932 and 1933 – all in the cadet league). Cremonese have won five of their last six home games against Spezia between Serie B and Coppa Italia (D1), keeping clean sheets in all of the last five. The Cremonese have drawn 1-1 in their last two Serie A matches, against Verona and Milan, and could collect three draws in a row in the tournament for the first time since last November; however, the Grigiorossi have never collected three X signs in a row with the same score in the top flight. Spezia have failed to score in four of their last five matches against newly promoted sides in Serie A (D3 L2), having always found the net in all of their first nine matches against these teams (W5 D3 L1). Cremonese have earned four points in their last two home league games (win against Empoli and draw against Verona), the Grigiorossi have not recorded a longer streak without defeat at Zini in Serie A since the period between November 1995 and March 1996 ( 10 in that case).
👉Lineup CREMONESE (3-5-2): Carnesecchi – Lochoshvili, Ferrari, Vasquez – Sernicola, Meité, Castagnetti, Galdamès, Valeri – Okereke, Ciofani.
👉Lineup SPEZIA (4-3-3): Dragowski; Amian, Wisniewski, Ampadu, Nikolaou; Bourabia, Ekdal, Bastoni; Agudelo, Shomurodov, Gyasi.
