✅    Mexico won the Copa America Group Stage Group B Matchday 1 against Jamaica on Saturday 22 June 2024 at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.  Mexico and Jamaica playing for the 33rd time in their history.  This is the first time since 2016 that Mexico and Jamaica are competing in the Copa America. Jamaica has never won a match at the Copa America.  Mexico’s best-ever performance in the Copa America came in 1993, when it finished runners-up to Argentina.

✅    Venezuela’s historic debut made a crazy comeback and won the Copa America Group Stage Group B against Ecuador on Saturday 22 June 2024.  Ecuador playing with 10 players since the 22nd minute after Enner Valencia was sent off. Super-subs Jhonder Cadiz and Eduard Bello secured the 2-1 win for Venezuela.  Surely, this victory comes after a long history of clashes between the two South American teams in previous Copa America editions. Venezuela are fourth in the CONMEBOL qualifiers ahead of Brazil in sixth and Ecuador in fifth and behind leaders Argentina, Uruguay and Colombia.

Venezuela overtuned the result and there it comes a goal in the 74th minute to take the lead. It is Eduardo Bello to score with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner.

🏆👉 Chile and Peru ended the Copa America Group Stage A with a goalless draw on Friday 21 June 2024 at the Estadio AT&T in Texas, United States.  Although there were no goals, it is 1 point for each. Peru have 5 consecutive matches without a defeat. Chile have gone 4 consecutive matches without a draw. Curiously, Chile and Peru with new coaches, as Chile coach Ricardo Gareca and Peru’s Jorge Fossati started coaching this year.

For the stats, Chile and Peru playing against each other for the 86th in their history: 47 wins in the last 85 matches, Chile, Peru won 24 time while 14 clashes ended in draws. Two Italian Serie A players playing with their respective national teams.
