✅   What’s happening in Round 30?

I have to admit, the battle for the Scudetto is really heating up!   Inter beat Udinese getting ever closer to clinching the Scudetto with only 8 games remaining.  Inter has reached a total of 67 points.   Meanwhile, Udinese remains at 40 points. Inter secured a victory in a match that showcased both teams’ strengths.  The Nerazzurri took control in the first half, scoring through Marko Arnautovic and Davide Frattesi, who also struck the post. The second half saw the Bianconeri narrow the gap with a goal from Solet, while Inzaghi was sent off for his protests. Looking ahead, the next fixtures include Genoa vs. Udinese and Parma vs. Inter.

The race for the Scudetto not slowing down.  Napoli claimed three points after defeating Milan 2-1. They dominated the first half, scoring two goals, while Milan showed some fight in the second half but failed to convert a penalty by Santiago Gimenez. Luka Jovic did score a goal for Milan, but it wasn’t enough to level the match. Napoli now sits at 64 points, just behind Inter with 67 points, while Milan stays in 9th place with 47 points.

Juventus triumphed over Genoa with a score of 1-0, elevating their points to 55 in the league, now only one point behind Bologna, who sits in fourth. Genoa, on the other hand, is at 35 points, maintaining a 12-point cushion above third-last Empoli. This marks a strong debut for Igor Tudor’s Juventus, as they walk away with three points. The decisive moment came from Yildiz’s swift strike in the first half.

Cagliari secured a crucial 3-0 victory over Monza in their direct matchup, earning three vital points in the battle for survival. Goals were scored by Nicolas Viola, Gianluca Gaetano, and Zito Luvumbo.  With this win, Cagliari now has 29 points, placing them 14th in the standings, and they hold a 6-point cushion above the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Monza remains stuck at 15 points, trailing by 10 points from the first team outside the danger zone. The pressure mounts for the Brianza team as the threat of Serie B looms closer.

Fiorentina beat Atalanta 1-0. The Viola has climbed to 51 points in the league standings, now matching Lazio’s score. Meanwhile, Atalanta remains at 58 points. This victory is significant for Fiorentina, as they are just one point behind Roma, who has 52 points. It’s certainly a letdown for Atalanta. This was crucial as both teams vie for important points; Fiorentina aims to close the gap on fourth place, which secures a spot in the Champions League, while Atalanta continues to chase their Scudetto dream.

✅   What’s happening in Round 29?

I have to say, the competition for the Scudetto is really heating up!

It’s hard to believe that Napoli missed out on winning the match against Venezia ending with a draw. Napoli is now tied with Inter at 61 points. The good news is for Inter because they secured a victory tonight against Atalanta.  Inter reached 64 points having the lead with a 3-point advantage over Napoli with 61.  Inter has a 6-point lead over Atalanta with 58 points.

Venezia 0-0 Napoli. Meanwhile, Venezia has reached 20 points but is still 5 points away from safety.   This marks Napoli’s fifth draw in their last seven matches, placing them alongside Inter at the top of the standings, albeit with one extra game played. On the other hand, Di Francesco’s Venezia achieved their fourth consecutive positive result, having also had several chances throughout the game. For Venezia, this draw feels more like a triumph as they managed to hold off a formidable opponent.

AC Milan staged an impressive comeback to secure a victory beating Como in San Siro.  They turned the game around from a 0-1 deficit to win 2-1.  It is a significant victory to boost the morale for the team, which has been facing a challenging season. However, with 47 points, Milan is still outside the European qualification spots.  This marks Milan’s second consecutive win, as they continue to rally back and have now climbed to seventh place in the standings, temporarily surpassing Roma and Fiorentina, who are set to play against Cagliari and Juventus, respectively. On the other hand, Como is struggling, having gone three matches without a win and sitting at 29 points, just seven points clear of the relegation zone as they await Empoli’s match against Torino. The decisive goal was netted by Tijjani Reijnders.

What a fantastic win for Fiorentina, giving their spirits a significant lift! It was yet another enchanting evening for the Viola as they triumphed over Juventus with a score of 3-0. The race for the Champions League is heating up, bringing several teams back into contention. Fiorentina now sits at 48 points, just 5 points behind Bologna, who is currently in fourth place. Juventus remains stagnant at 48 points.  The match featured two goals in the first half from Robin Gosens and Rolando Mandragora, followed by a third from Gudmundsson in the second half.

Genoa secured a victory against Lecce, making significant progress towards safety. The match concluded with a score of 2-1 in favor of the home team, thanks to two goals from Miretti and a penalty kick converted by Krstovic. With this win, Genoa climbs to 35 points, sitting in 12th place, and Vieira’s squad heads into the break with a comfortable 13-point cushion above the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Lecce stays in 16th place, only two points clear of third-from-bottom Empoli.

Hellas Verona win the Derby del Triveneto.  Udinese remains steady at 40 points in the league standings, comfortably positioned in the safe zone. Hellas Verona made significant progress, now sitting at 29 points, which gives them a seven-point cushion over third-from-bottom Empoli.  Verona secured a crucial win in Udine, thanks to a stunning free kick from Duda that clinched the match, which had been closely contested until that moment. Earlier, Udinese posed threats with players like Ehizibue, Atta, and Lovric, while Kastanos nearly extended the visitors’ lead just before halftime.

Torino claims three points after a difficult encounter. Empoli begins the match with more flair, outshining the home team in the first half. As the second half unfolds, Vanoli’s team becomes more cohesive and determined, scoring the decisive goal through Nikola Vlasic’s right-footed shot from the edge of the box with just twenty minutes remaining. Despite their final push, the Tuscans fail to score and find themselves third from the bottom in the standings.  Torino 1 – 0 Empoli.

Monza and Parma ended with a 1-1 at the U-Power Stadium.  The draw benefits Parma more than Monza, as both teams earn an additional point in the standings.   Currently, Monza sitting at the bottom of the table with just 15 points.  Meanwhile, Parma reached 25 points.   Monza kicked off strongly, breaking the deadlock in the 60th minute with a corner kick that Izzo converted with a precise tap-in following a setup from D’Ambrosio.  For about twenty minutes, the pace was relentless, but then Parma shifted gears. With fresh players on the field, they found the equalizer; Bonny scored in the 84th minute with a brilliant double dribble followed by a shot that hit the underside of the crossbar.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
AC Milan, 8th position with 28 points and a positive goal difference of +9
Como, 16th position with 19 points and a negative goal difference of -10

AC Milan staged an impressive comeback to secure a victory in Week 29 of Serie A on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. They turned the game around from a 0-1 deficit to win 2-1. This win is a significant morale booster for the team, which has been facing a challenging season. With 47 points, Milan is still outside the European qualification spots.

Como stunned the Rossoneri in the 33rd minute! Lucas da Cunha found the back of the net with a left-footed strike into the bottom left corner, assisted by Nico Paz. It was a fantastic play by Como, as Nico Paz received the ball from Diao and set up Da Cunha just outside the box. The number 33’s shot went just past the post, leaving goalkeeper Mike Maignan with no chance.
Milan 0 – 1 Como

AC Milan leveled the score at 1-1 in the 52nd minute when “Captain America” Christian Pulišić found the net with a left-footed strike into the bottom right corner. Tijjani Reijnders provided the assist, delivering a fantastic pass behind the defense. Pulisic expertly controlled the ball and took a first-time shot, perfectly placing it into the far post, leaving goalkeeper Jean Butez helpless!

Milan made a comeback and seized the lead in the 75th minute. Tijjani Reijnders scored with a precise right-footed shot into the bottom right corner, assisted by Tammy Abraham. Abraham delivered a fantastic vertical pass, allowing the Dutchman to go one-on-one with Butez, where he successfully found the net with a shot aimed at the near post.

Stats before the game

Milan has maintained an unbeaten streak against Como in their last 12 Serie A encounters, with 7 victories and 5 draws. They have triumphed in all three matches against Como since the year 2000. The last time the Rossoneri achieved four straight wins over Como in this league was during the 1951-52 season.

Como, on the other hand, has managed to secure only one win in their 12 away matches against Milan in Serie A, recording 4 draws and 7 losses. That sole victory came on January 13, 1985. They won 2-0, thanks to goals from Gianfranco Matteoli and Pasquale Bruno. Additionally, Como has struggled to score in their last five away games against the Rossoneri in this competition.  Their most recent match occurring in 2003.

Milan has secured victories in five out of their last six matches against teams that began the matchday in the top half of the table, suffering just one loss. This matches the number of wins they achieved in their previous 13 encounters with such teams.  They recorded six draws and two losses.

Buy Serie A tickets

Como remains unbeaten in three of their last four Serie A matches, with two wins and one draw. It is consistent with their performance in the previous eight league games (also W2 D1). However, they have struggled on the road, winning only once in their last 10 away matches in the league, with that sole victory being a 2-0 win against Fiorentina on February 16.

Milan has allowed two goals in each of their last four league matches, marking a rare occurrence in their history where they have conceded more than one goal in five straight Serie A games. This has only happened three times before: twice during the 1940s and the last time in April 1974. Como has secured 17 out of their 29 points in Serie A this season against teams that are currently at the top of the standings. Only Napoli (30), Atalanta (22), Inter (20), and Juventus (19) have earned more points against these top teams in the ongoing season.
