Hello my friends. Here are the results of the Serie A Week 18 – Eighteenth Round on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 January 2016.

It’s a Happy New Year for some and not a good start for others.  The first game in 2016 is the famous Derby della Lanterna on Tuesday between Genoa vs Sampdoria.  The happy day is for Sampdoria winning the Derby and set themselves with a positive feeling for the new year.  Genoa risking going down to the relegation zone.

Inter continuing their winning road in 2016.  It’s definitely a good year for Coach Roberto Mancini leading his team for the Scudetto and this round keeping the sole leadership after defeating Empoli at the Carlo Castellani Stadium with a 0 – 1 result.

A good 2016 start is also for Juventus rocking big time.   Juventus defeating Hellas Verona with a 3 -0.  It’s just a fast run towards the top places for Juventus.  Verona remaining in the last position of the Serie A and its by now total crisis.  Juventus climbing all the way to the 3rd position with 36 points just 2 points below Fiorentina!

A flop is for AC Milan losing the home game in San Siro against Bologna.  There are no words to describe the decadence of once the great AC Milan and only a shadow today.   Great start for Bologna defeating Milan with 1 goal by Emanuele Giaccherini in the 82nd minute.

Bad news is also for Palermo falling at the Renzo Barbera Stadium, totally humiliated.  It is Fiorentina to claim full victory with a 1 – 3 result.

We might consider another flop.  It is the goalless match Lazio 0 – 0 Carpi.  On paper, Lazio were supposed to win the home game at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium considering the team to be technically above Carpi who are struggling for salvation.

The top scorer up to Round 17: Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain with 16 goals

Hello my friends. Here is the  Serie A Preview  for Week 18 – Eighteenth Round on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 January 2016.

Happy New Year to all my friends!   It’s time to get back to the Italian Serie A resuming on Tuesday 5 January and Wednesday 6.    We have some good challenges.   Inter ended the 2015 year as sole leader of the Serie A and will certainly look to defeat Empoli in the away game at the Carlo Castellani Stadium to keep the sole leadership.

The first game in 2016 is the famous Derby della Lanterna on Tuesday between Genoa vs Sampdoria.  Pressure is for Genoa to win the match to start climbing the Serie A Table and avoid falling down in the relegation zone.  It’s also a challenge for Sampdoria coach and ex player Vincenzo Montella to win this Derby for the fans.

The top scorer up to Round 17: Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain with 16 goals

Hello my friends. Here are the results of the Serie A Week 17 – Seventeenth Round on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December 2015.

Inter end the 2015 year as sole leader of the Serie A despite the results of the other games.  Inter losing the home game at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium against Lazio.   Inter having now 36 points and is followed by Fiorentina with 35 points.  It means, next round Fiorentina can take the away leadership from Inter if they lose the away game against Empoli and if Fiorentina defeat Palermo at the Renzo Barbera Stadium.  Same chance is for Napoli having now 35 points, they also can become the leaders if defeating Torino at the San Paolo Stadium.

All the “big” teams winning.    Fiorentina, Napoli, Juventus and  AS Roma keeping the race for the Scudetto alive.

Great end of year for Empoli winning their four consecutive game after defeating Bologna at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium with a 2-3.  Hero for Empoli is forward Massimo “Big Mac” Maccarone scoring the winner goal.  Chaos is for Bologna.

Bad news is for Hellas Verona ending 2015 in the last position of the Serie A with only 8 points.

The top scorer up to Round 17: Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain with 16 goals
