A sad day for Udinese as the iconic Captain forward Antonio Di Natale is playing his last game. Di Natale being the motor “a bandiera” for the squad earned the respect not only of his teams, but also from the fans.
Carpi despite the victory is relegated to the Serie B. The competition was for Palermo who defeated Hellas Verona and saved themselves reaching 39 points while Carpi remained with 38 points. One point difference and that made the difference.
Things going bad for Udinese. In the 35th minute, Referee Mazzoleni giving a penalty to Carpi conceded by Udinese defender Felipe after a foul on Carpi forward Kevin Lasagna inside the penalty area. It’s forward Simone Verdi to convert the penalty defeating goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.
Tough situation for Udinese. Referee Mazzoleni giving a red card to forward Cyril Théréau in the 37th minute. Udinese playing now with 10 players.
Imagine, just two minutes after the first goal, there it comes the second one. Yep, it is again Simone Verdi to score! In the 38th minute, Verdi defeating goalkeeper Karnezis with a left footed shot in the bottom left corner. The assist is by midfielder Marco Crimi.
