Napoli  “the almighty” win their 8th consecutive games after winning the Serie A Week 8 game defeating Torino at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.  Napoli is the only team winning all 8 games having a perfect score of 24 being the sole leader of the Serie A.   Torino with 8 points are -16 points below Napoli.  Napoli equal the best start in their history in Serie A: eight wins in the first eight of the league in 2017/18 – compared to the first seven games of that season.

AC Milan making an incredible comeback.  AC Milan win the Serie A Week 8 game defeating Hellas Verona with the own goal by Verona player Koray Günter  at the San Siro Stadium.  Milan were down 0-2 and in the second half overturning the result. Milan reaching 22 points are just -2 points below Napoli with 24 points.

Juventus showing their worth winning the big match the Serie A Week 8 game defeating AS Roma at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.  No magic formula for Roma Coach Jose Mourinho unable to defeat Juventus at the Allianz.   Juventus reaching 14 points while Roma remain with 15 points. It is still a tough road to climb the Serie A Standing seeing Napoli as sole leader in the 1st position with 24 points. Precisely, Juventus being -10 points below Napoli.

The match for salvation.  Spezia with a much needed victory win the Serie A Week 8 game defeating Salernitana at the Alberto Picco Stadium in Spezia, Italy.   The victory gives Spezia a boost to the morale of the team dreaming with salvation reaching 7 points while Salernitana remain in the relegation zone from the 18th to the 19th position with 4 points.  Spezia leaving the relegation zone climbing from the 19th position.

The big duel and emotional game for Lazio fans.  Lazio winning the Serie A Week 8 game defeating Inter at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.   Inter losing their first game this season.  Highlight of the match is the return to the Olimpico Stadium of former Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi now coaching Inter.   Inzaghi spent five-year as Coach and  also spent a decade during his playing career.  In the era of three points to win, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi was the Lazio manager with the most Serie A games (197) and was second only to Sven-Göran Eriksson by average points (1.82 v 1.9) – min. 50 benches.

Empoli failing to win the Serie A Week 8 game humiliated by Atalanta at the Carlo Castellani Stadium in Empoli, Italy. Atalanta causing an upset and they are also celebrating their 114th Birthday with this away victory.

Genoa making a comeback to draw the Serie A Week 8 game against Sassuolo at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genova  Genoa needed the victory to avoid falling down in the relegation zone.  However, this draw might be considered a plus for Genoa because they were down 0-2  to  a 2-2 draw.  Mexican defender Johan Vásquez  making his debut with Genoa scoring the equalizer goal in the 89th minute.

Udinese ending the Serie A Week 8 game with a draw against Bologna at the Dacia Arena.  Udinese were down by a goal and managed to get at least 1 point in the 83rd minute with the equalizing goal by Beto. Udinese reaching 9 points and Bologna 12 points.

Venezia needed to win the Serie A Week 8 game against Fiorentina to avoid falling down in the relegation zone, and they did it.  The victory helps Venezia climb from the 17th to the 15th position moving away from the relegation zone.  This is the first win at the Penzo Stadium for Venezia since February 2002.  Venezia promoted from Serie B this season has a reason to celebrate.  Venezia have won all the last three Serie A matches against Fiorentina played at Pier Luigi Penzo: the last away win for Viola dates back to 1966.  Fiorentina need the victory to be among the top 5 positions stepping down to the 9th position.  Good debut of Venezia goalkeeper Argentine Sergio Romero.
