Spain win the UEFA Euro 2020 Quarterfinals defeating Switzerland on penalty shootout on Friday 2 July 2021 in Russia.   Spain will play the Semifinals against Italy. Sergio Busquets gets set for his 125th game with Spain.  Switzerland playing with 10 players since the 77th minute when Remo Freuler got a red card.

  • Switzerland with an added boost after eliminating France, the World Cup Champions,  as they came from two goals down to beat France on penalties after their Round of 16 tie had ended in a 3-3 draw.   Spain needed extra time to defeat Croatia, with a 5-3 win.

Ukraine  win the UEFA  Euro Round of 16 game defeating in extra time Sweden on Tuesday 29 June 2021 at the Parken Stadium.    Ukraine qualified to the Quarterfinals against England  on Saturday 3 July!    Sweden remained with 10 players since the 99th minute when Marcus Danielson got a red card.

Sweden ended up as the winners of Group E with seven points and posting a +2 goal differential through wins against Poland and Slovakia and a 0-0 draw against Spain.  Ukraine made it to the knockout stages with three points and a -1 goal differential despite playing in the easiest group of the tournament.  Ukraine got the best draw finishing third in their group.

✅ Italian Serie A players with 🇸🇪 Sweden National team:

  • Juventus midfielder Dejan Kulusevski (Sweden) 69′ yellow card and replaced in the 97th minute by Robin Quaison
  • Sampdoria midfielder Albin Ekdal (Sweden) played all game

Mission accomplished! England win the UEFA Euro 2020 Round of 16 defeating Germany at Wembley Stadium in London on Tuesday 29 June 2021 . England topped Group D with 7 points. On the other hand, Germany earned just four points in the so-called “Group of Death,” losing to France, then dominating Portugal and draw against Hungary in Group F action.   England ending the curse and beat Germany in a major tournament knockout game for the first time since 1966!  Stats before the game: England have lost all four knockout games against Germany since the 1966 World Cup final. The winner of this match will play the Quarterfinal against the winner of Sweden vs Ukraine.
