🇮🇹👉  AC Milan lost the Serie A Week 27 game on Sunday 2 March 2025 at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.  Milan has stumbled again, suffering their third consecutive defeat in the league. This may signal the end of their hopes to reach the 4th position.

In the dying moments of the match, their plans unravel, and Maignan brings down Isaksen in the penalty area. Following a review, Manganiello points to the spot. Pedro steps up to score, clinching three vital points for his side in the battle for Champions League qualification. It’s a tough break for Milan but well done to Lazio.

This was a key match for the Rossoneri and Biancocelesti. The road to Europe runs through tonight’s encounter at San Siro. After losing to Bologna, Conceiçao’s squad is facing one of their final opportunities to reach fourth place, which is currently eight points away. For Baroni’s team, winning tonight is crucial to briefly surpass Juventus and create pressure on their direct rivals for a spot in the Champions League.

Lazio have drawn their last two league matches and have not recorded consecutive draws in Serie A since the period between November and December 2018 (four in that case, including a 1-1 against Milan on 25 November 2018 at the Olimpico).

⚪️🔵 Lazio struck first in the 28th minute when Mattia Zaccagni found the back of the net with a close-range left-footed shot. After Tchaouna set up Marusic, who challenged Maignan, the ball rebounded off the French keeper, allowing Zaccagni to capitalize and score with his left foot. Lazio takes the lead at San Siro!

In the 85th minute, AC Milan leveled the score at 1-1. Samuel Chukwueze found the back of the net with a powerful header into the top right corner, thanks to an assist from Rafael Leão. Leão delivered a gentle cross to the far post, and Chukwueze, unmarked by Nuno Tavares, expertly headed it home to equalize!

Lazio clinched the victory in the dying moments of the match, scoring in the 98th minute. Pedro sealed the win for Lazio by successfully converting a penalty with his right foot. The penalty was awarded after Mike Maignan committed a foul on Gustav Isaksen inside the box.

✅   Stats before the game:

Milan are unbeaten in six of their last seven league matches against Lazio (W5 D1).  The Biancocelesti’s only win in that period dating back to 24 January 2023 (4-0 at the Olimpico).

After the 2-2 draw in the first leg on 31 August, Milan and Lazio could draw both of their Serie A matches this season for the first time since 2013/14.

Milan are unbeaten in 33 of their last 34 home matches against Lazio in Serie A (W22 D11).  Lazio’s only away win against the Rossoneri in that period dating back to 3 November 2019 (2-1 with goals from Immobile and Correa).

Milan have won seven of their last eight league matches at the Meazza against Lazio (L1), including all four of the most recent ones.  Only once have the Rossoneri achieved five consecutive home wins against the Biancocelesti in Serie A: between December 1956 and January 1961.

After the defeats against Torino and Bologna, Milan could lose three games in a row in Serie A for the first time since the period between January and February 2023.  This is a run that began with a defeat against Lazio (0-4, 24 January 2023).
Milan won their last home game in Serie A (1-0 vs Hellas Verona) and only once in this championship have they won at least two home games in a row, between September and October (a run of three).

🇮🇹   The Italian Referee Association (AIA) has designated the match officials for the Serie A Week 27 game Atalanta vs Venezia on Saturday 1 March 2025 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy at 15:00.
