France making their debut with a victory defeating Honduras on Sunday 15 June 2014.   France are playing Group E along Honduras, Switzerland, and Ecuador.  There is is 1 Italian Serie A player with France National team the Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba while there are no Serie A Players with Honduras team.

Honduras remaining with 10 players since the 43rd minute after Referee Sandro Ricci granted a penalty to France.  The penalty conceded by Honduras midfielder Walter Palacios after getting a second yellow card for a foul on midfielder Paul Pogba.   Taking the penalty spot is Karim Benzema converting the penalty with a right footed shot defeating Honduras goalkeeper Noel Valladares in the bottom let corner.

Italian Serie A players with France National Football Team:

  • Juventus midfielders Paul Pogba  … played all  57 minutes  after being replaced by midfielder Moussa Sissoko

Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is ruled out for the game 2014 FIFA World Cup against England on Saturday 14 June. Buffon sprained his ankle during training on Friday 13 and could not recover.  as confirmed by Italy head coach Cesare Prandelli, it is Italy second goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu to be in the lineup.  Sirigu plays for Paris Saint Germain who are France League 1 champions.  Sirigu previously played for Palermo.

All the best to Buffon wishing him a prompt recovery and the best also for Sirigu to protect Italy against England attack.
