Cagliari and Genoa ended the Serie A Week 28 with a draw on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Unipol Domus in Cagliari, Italy. A result that favors Genoa, who now sits at 32 points. Cagliari, on the other hand, has 26 points, tying with Verona and establishing a 4-point gap from the relegation zone. Nicolas Viola scored first for the home team in the first half, but Cornet brought the guests level early in the second half. The game remained tightly contested, with both teams unable to find a winning goal.
Genoa comes to Sardinia in a more secure position, sitting nine points clear of the relegation zone. A win today could be vital for their survival hopes. On the other hand, Cagliari, with only one point from their last three outings, is looking to bounce back and pull away from the relegation danger that looms just three points behind.
The match …
Cagliari opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Nicolas Viola found the back of the net with a left-footed strike into the bottom right corner. The setup came from Roberto Piccoli. The Sardinians quickly got back into action, with Piccoli maneuvering the ball in the attacking third before passing it to Viola, who expertly controlled it and finished with a well-placed left-footed shot that caught Leali off guard.

Cornet made a swift move to the far post and calmly slotted it into the net, leaving goalkeeper Elia Caprile with no chance to respond.
