Bologna lost the UEFA Champions League against Lille LOSC on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy. Unfortunately, Bologna remains stuck at just one point in the standings. The silver lining of the evening was their first-ever goal in the Champions League. On the other hand, Lille climbed to 10 points, marking their twelfth consecutive positive result.

This match marked Bologna’s fourth straight defeat in the Champions League. After trailing in the first half, they managed to equalize with a goal from Lucumì in the 63rd minute. However, just three minutes later, Mukau scored again, putting Lille back in the lead. From that point on, Skorupski was a wall in goal, preventing an even larger defeat for Italiano’s squad, who struggled to create any real threats against Chevalier. Lille celebrated their third victory in this European campaign, following wins against Atletico and Real Madrid, as they push towards qualification for the next round.

In the 63rd minute, Bologna leveled the score. They earned a free kick, and Lykogiannis skillfully nudged it to the near post, where Jhon Lucumì outmaneuvered the defenders and struck a right-footed shot that found its way between the goalkeeper and the post. The Dall’Ara stadium erupted in celebration as the rossoblu marked their first Champions League goal in sixty years, harking back to Nielsen’s goal against Anderlecht.

Oh no! Lille has taken the lead once more in the 66th minute. Ngal’ayel Mukau netted a goal with a right-footed shot aimed at the center, thanks to an assist from Matias Fernandez-Pardo. Mukau has now scored twice! Fernandez-Pardo sent a low cross to Mukau, who was completely unmarked and scored with a flat shot that Skorupski couldn’t stop. Lille is leading again, and it’s a real setback for Bologna.

Bologna is set to face Lille in a crucial UEFA Champions League match on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy. To keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout stage alive, Bologna must secure a victory and earn valuable points. The journey in European competition has been tough for the rossoblu, who have managed to gather only one point so far and are the only team yet to find the back of the net in this tournament. In contrast, Lille is enjoying a fantastic run, remaining unbeaten in all competitions since September 21st. They have achieved 11 consecutive positive results, earning seven points in the Champions League and currently sitting fourth in Ligue 1 as they vie for a spot in the next Champions League.

Ouch. Lille took the lead in the 44th minute. Bologna creates a thrilling moment as Posch’s clearance accidentally strikes Beukema. David seizes the opportunity, driving into the area from the left and setting up Ngal’ayel Mukau. Although Posch manages to block the initial shot on the line, he can’t stop Mukau from scoring on the follow-up. The French team takes the lead just before halftime.
