🏆🇮🇹 👉  Atalanta won the Coppa Italia Round of 16 crushing Spezia on Thursday 19 January 2023 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy. Atalanta with a smashing victory passed to the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup. The Ligurians hold up for an hour, the Nerazzurri – always ahead in the result – spread in the final with Hojlund triggered by Muriel and capable of scoring a goal and propitiating Ampadu’s author of the final 5-2. Atalanta will face Inter at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

Atalanta opened the score in the 10th minute. Ademola Lookman defeated Spezia goalkeeper from very close range with a right-footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Giorgio Scalvini following a corner conceded by Jakub Kiwior.

Stats before the game: Atalanta and Spezia have faced each other 16 times, considering all competitions, but never in the Coppa Italia; in the 16 meetings between Serie A and Serie B, the Ligurians have collected only one success, in the cadet tournament, in June 1931 (D7, L8). Atalanta are unbeaten at home against Spezia between Serie A and Serie B, thanks to six wins and two draws; in particular, the players from Bergamo have won all of their last five home matches against the Ligurians, scoring an average of 4.2 goals per game in the set. After having passed this stage of the tournament in the last two editions, Atalanta could reach the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup, for three consecutive seasons, for the first time in their history. Spezia will play the round of 16 of the Italian Cup for the eighth time in its history (the fifth since 2014 onwards); on four occasions, the Ligurians have gone through: most recently in 2021, when they were then eliminated by Napoli. Atalanta lost their last Coppa Italia match played at home (2-3 v Fiorentina, in February 2022); dates back to 2011, the last time Dea suffered back-to-back home defeats in the competition (in that case against Livorno and Gubbio).
