“We know what we can do.” A. De Rossi talks to us about the Final Eight

“We go into the final stages of the Primavera championship galvanized by the experiences we’ve had this season.” That’s what Alberto De Rossi said to Roma TV on the eve of the Final Eight quarter-finals, which see his youngsters in action against Spezia in Genoa on Tuesday, June 9 (kick-off 16:30 CET, 10:30 EST).

“It will be the first time we meet the side from Liguria this season but we’ve studied them and have tried out a number of solutions that we hope can prove key during the match.”

The Giallorossi’s opponents come into the match on the back of their third-place finish in Group A, earning their spot in the final phase thanks to play-off wins over Empoli and Chievo.

“It will be an even game against Spezia between two teams that deservedly made it into the Final Eight. There are a number of young stars out there on both sides that can win the match and we hope it’s our guys that do so.”

Alberto De Rossi believes his team’s experiences this season could give them the edge and allow them to approach the Final Eight in great shape.

“Our team was a bit tired come the end of the league season but we have guys who have played more than 50 matches, competing in several tournaments, as well as with the national team. The break allowed our guys to recharge their batteries both physically and mentally. We’ve realised how good we are thanks to the Youth League and the other tournaments we’ve played in and, even though we didn’t win them, we had a very good run. Therefore we go into the final stages of the league season galvanized by our experiences this year.”

The match will be live from Genoa’s Stadio La Sciorba tomorrow at 16:30 CET (10:30 EST). Follow @ASRomaEN on Twitter for live updates and exclusive pictures.
