AS Roma must overcome a last-four clash with local rivals Lazio if they are to reach the final of this year’s Primavera championship.
After beating Spezia 2-0 yesterday, the Giallorossi U19s have been rewarded with a semi-final showdown against the Biancocelesti, who edged a tight encounter with Inter in extra time last night.
Speaking following his own side’s quarter-final victory, Alberto De Rossi expressed no preference for the next opposition: “We’ll focus on resting now. I don’t like to make predictions but both teams are very difficult opponents and we know them both well.”
Arturo Calabresi got exactly what he wanted, however. The 19-year-old defender, who was also speaking before Roma knew who they would face in the last four, proclaimed: “I’d rather play Lazio. We owe them one after the Coppa Italia and the Scudetto semi-final is the perfect place to get one back over them.”
Savona’s Stadio Bacigalupo will be the stage for the fifth Primavera Derby of the season on Friday. It all kicks off at 18:00 CEST (12:00 EDT). Forza Roma!
