AS Roma’s players have today spoken about the amazing ‘Roma Siamo Noi’ posters that were designed by fans to inspire the team ahead of Monday’s Derby della Capitale.
The posters formed part of the month-long, fan-driven #ShowYourColors social media campaign that has celebrated the unique bond between the club, the supporters and the city of Rome.
Fans were tasked with creating a poster with the theme of ‘We are Rome’ and the 10 winning designs were this weekend displayed to the entire Roma first-team squad at the club’s training ground in Trigoria.
“My favorite is the last one (pictured below) because we’re almost all there and you can see the Colosseum – the most beautiful monument in the world,” revealed Daniele De Rossi. “I also love Totti’s selfie, especially as we’re so close to the derby. Let’s hope it brings us luck!”
Fellow Romanista Alessandro Florenzi selected a different design, a collection of four images that depicted the players wearing shirts emblazoned with iconic Rome imagery.
“I like the four ones with the shirt that has the city of Rome inside, especially because I’m there,” he said. “I love the one with the child too.”
Meanwhile, fit-again defender Federico Balzaretti opted for a creative re-working of the Colosseum in Roma colors as his personal favorite.
“Definitely the one with the Colosseum (see below),” enthused Balzaretti. “It would be amazing to play a match inside. It’s the symbol of Rome so that’s a great idea for a poster.”
