Montella predicts open contest at San Siro

Fiorentina head coach Vincenzo Montella held a press conference today ahead of his side's visit to AC Milan tomorrow night. Here's a selection of his thoughts:

“He can do better than what we're seeing from him at the moment. He's capable of producing a lot more quality than he is right now but in terms of his commitment he can't be faulted.”

“It's going to be a tough match and we'll try to take the game to them, without showing fear and by staying focused. We'll try to bring out our quality and I think it will be an open contest.”

“He's showing everyone that Milan still have plenty of room for improvement in all areas.  They're not the only ones in the mix for third place. At the moment Samp and Udinese are up there too. There's little between third and seventh.”

“Gomez will start training with the first team again next week. He won't be in the squad for tomorrow.”

“It's extremely tough to win in Milan. And if you think that we've won on our last three visits to the San Siro it makes it even harder.”

“You sense that the club is working very hard. Having your own stadium and everything that comes with it can help you to build a great team. There are lots of other ambitious projects.”
