The Viola Under-19s kicked off their 2015 Viareggio Cup campaign with a 3-2 win over Nordsjaelland thanks to a sensational late winner by Andy Bangu. Federico Guidi’s youngsters raced into a 2-0 lead as Bangu converted from the spot and Diakhaté headed home from a corner, before the Danish side halved the deficit on the stroke of half time. Fiorentina were reduced to ten men shortly after the restart when Mancini was given his marching orders yet managed to hold on until Nordsjaelland levelled the scores three minutes from time. It looked like being a point apiece but then Bangu came up with a piece of magic deep into stoppage time and fired in the winner with a brilliant overhead kick. Cesena will be Fiorentina’s next opponents when the two sides meet for an all-Italian clash on Wednesday.
