Gonzalo: "Raring to go again – Gomez and Rossi especially up for it"

Viola defender Gonzalo Rodriguez met with journalists at the Centro Sportivo Cesare Benatti press room in Moena this afternoon, where the team recently started gearing up for the 2015/16 season. On the new season
“We’re raring to go. Lots of things have changed since the end of May. I’m really sorry about Montella but these things happen in football. We have lots of options this year and a lot more youngsters. I’m sure the club will sign some more big players too.” On Paolo Sousa
“He’s determined to make a success of his time at Fiorentina, just as Montella did in his three years here. We’ll all be giving 100% because we all start from scratch now and have to earn our place in the team.” On Mohamed Salah
“As I said, these things happen in football. I’m just thinking about the other guys I’ll be playing with – all we can do is focus on ourselves.” On Fiorentina’s targets for next season
“It won’t be easy to repeat what we did last year. We were in the running on all three fronts until the end of the season and played flowing football. The players who are still here are highly motivated.” On Mario Gomez and Giuseppe Rossi
“Mario is determined to do well. I’m really happy for Pepito. I love watching him when he’s got the ball at his feet on the pitch.” On Stefan Savic’s possible departure
“Stefan has come on loads in the last few years and lots of clubs are interested in him. I hope he stays with us for a long while yet.”

On David Pizarro leaving the club

“Pek was the brains of the side but a team doesn’t depend on one player alone.”
