Gilardino completes return, set for Wednesday unveiling (13:00)

ACF Fiorentina is delighted to announce that Alberto Gilardino has joined the club on a loan arrangement from Guangzhou Evergrande Football Club until June 2015. The deal includes an option for Fiorentina to make the transfer permanent.

Born in Biella on 5 July 1982, Gilardino is returning to the club for the second time following a four-year stint from 2008 to 2012, in which he scored 59 goals in 143 games for the Viola.

The striker has 57 senior Italy caps and 19 goals to his name. He won the World Cup with the Azzurri in 2006.

Gilardino's official unveiling as a Viola player will take place at 13:00 on Wednesday 28 January, in the Manuela Righini press room at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
