President Rocco Commisso dished out praise all round in the wake of Wednesday’s 3-1 victory at Lecce.

“That was the Fiorentina I like to see tonight. We were united and compact, we battled for every ball and won a crucial game at a difficult ground against a side that had a lot riding on this.

“Well done to Federico [Chiesa] for capping off a great performance with a goal and an assist but they all deserve plaudits for the way they played tonight. Well done to the coach too for setting them up the way he did.

“This is a win for all the Viola fans: they’re always there behind us and they showed their support once again, even in Puglia.

“Now we move on to the next match, against Torino. Hopefully we’ll be able to celebrate in Florence again too.”
