Rocco Commisso has released a statement following the Superintendence meeting on Friday afternoon.
“I’m pleased with the reassuring words from Superintendent Andrea Pessina,” said the Fiorentina president.
“After the meeting today we spoke on the phone and had a pleasant and productive conversation,” continued Commisso. “As the Superintendent and the Mayor of Bagno a Ripoli Francesco Casini have said publicly, we are now moving swiftly towards getting definitive approval for the works by September.
“I’m pleased that there have been no backwards steps following the green light we got last year. It means that the extensive work we’ve done over the past few months to accommodate the various requests from the institutions will not have been futile and confirms that there will be no significant changes to the final project.
“We care deeply about the attractiveness of the landscape of Bagno a Ripoli and that was part of the reason we chose the area. We will take care to protect and respect it.”
Commisso ended with a quip: “Let’s just hope that they don’t all go on holiday in August.”
