MILAN – Coach Riccardo Monguzzi spoke to calcionazionale.it after the 3-2 defeat to Roma in the Allievi Nazionalli Final Eight semi-final yesterday, “The aim we had set this season was to impose a certain style of football, and we succeeded in every game we played no matter who we were playing or how important the game was. We did the same today but despite this it wasn’t enough. The lads must keep on working in the knowledge that winning is important but more so is the way you win. The team did well not to change their gameplan when things were going against them. I am proud of them and I firmly believe this defeat will held the players in the future.
And on the future: “This team will resume training in a month with the Primavera of a great coach like Cristian Brocchi, who is following the path set down by Milan. I am sure they will make more progress because if the football we propose is what we put on show today and throughout the season, they can only get better.
