AC MILAN YOUTH: A BUSY WEEK

MILAN – Here is a full round-up of what is going on across all levels of the AC Milan Youth Sector.

PRIMAVERAAhead of the new season, the Milan Primavera coached by Cristian Brocchi took on Como in a pre-season fixture on the 29th of August at 16.00 at Orsenigo (Como) winning 5-0 and there is talk of either a match between ranks or another opponent on the 5th of September. A reminder that the league season for the Primavera begins on the 12th of September and the regular season comes to an end on the 7th of May. The Scudetto finals will be taking place from the 27th of May through to the 4th of June, but the location has yet to be decided. As for the Italian Cup for the Primavera, this gets going again on the 16th of September. The two legged final will be played out on the 18th of March and the 8th of April.

ALLIEVI NAZIONALI (U-17)Riccardo Monguzzi’s Allievi Nazionali are called into action at the Nardino Previdi Memorial where they have been drawn in Group A. The tournament runs from the 28th through to the 30th of August. Milan won the first group match against Modena on the 28th of August and the second group match versus Brescia on the 29th of August. The other teams taking part are: Juventus, Sassuolo, Verona, Inter, Cesena, Carpi, Roma, Reggiana, Chievo, Torino, Bologna, Mantova. The league season for the Allievi Nazionali meanwhile begins on the 6th of September.
GIOVANISSIMI NAZIONALI (U-15)The Giovanissimi Nazionali coached by Omar Danesi are at the Gaetano Scirea Memorial Tournament which started for the rossoneri youngsters on Friday the 28th of August with a 6-3 win over Albinoleffe. The second group stage match is on Tuesday the 1st of September at 20.30 against a FIGC Lombardy Representative side.

 

GIOVANISSIMI REGIONALI 2002From Tuesday the 1st of September, the Giovanissimi Regionali 2002 coached by Alessandro Lupi are one of 20 teams set for the first edition of the Cristina Varani Memorial. GIOVANISSIMI REGIONALI 2003Finally, Giuseppe Misso’s Giovanissimi Regionali 2003 are taking part at the 9th edition of the Quarenghi Cup. The youth tournament is scheduled from the 27th through to the 30th of August. Milan won the event in 2012 and are one of the following teams to have confirmed their attendance this year alongside Chelsea, FC Copenhagen, Red Bull Salzburg, HJK Helsinki, Albinoleffe, Torino, Inter, Atalanta, Juventus, U.S. Falco Albino and U.S. Calcio San Pellegrino. The first match for the rossoneri was on Friday the 28th of August against Torino at 20.00 and ended 2-0 in favour of the Granata. The second match pitted them versus Red Bull Salzburg and the rossoneri ran out 2-1 winners.
