(IN THE PHOTO: a close up of Milan’s CEO Adriano Galliani)MILAN - Milan's CEO Adriano Galliani spoke on Monday at the Malpensa Airport to the gathered journalists ahead of Atletico Madrid-Milan :There were naturally a lot of questions about the Champions League match with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday: "I hope to come back with qualification to the next round. I spoke with my friend Florentino this morning, we’ll go for dinner together and he’ll let me know how to beat Atletico Madrid! Let’s hope that Kakà and all the others can come back fighting for this match. We’ve got a nearly full set of players ahead of the match, we’ve recovered close to everyone. We take on Atletico in the best condition. Balotelli has a slight pain which I think he can cope with. I believe that it will take heart, mind and matter to beat Atletico because they are a dangerous and tough side to beat, especially at home. There will be a fight and a battle.”The club’s CEO also spoke about the current situation in Serie A: “In the league we’re trying to do our best to reach the highest position possible. No one is turning their noses up at the Europa League. It’s just one of those years. Juventus had two consecutive seventh place finishes before winning two consecutive Italian titles. Inter have been out of Europe for a while and it’s been years since Roma took part in the Champions League. Fiorentina haven’t been in it for 5 years. This year it’s our turn to suffer, but let’s hope we can have a great end to the season. Every team has a season in which they don’t take part in Europe.”The final words from Galliani were about believing in qualification to the next round: “I don’t like to play the victim, Milan are having a tough season and we’ll have to get back on track in Madrid. Silvio Berlusconi the club President’s philosophy has been to get the best result by playing good football and we’ve done this on many occasions. I liked the hug and greeting between Ancelotti-Seedorf, but this evening I’ll also be with Ancelotti and Florentino for dinner, the coach and the President that beat Atletico in the Coppa del Re so we will try and pick up some help. It’s obviously a tough task, but when we drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich and went on to win the return leg 2-0 away from home with a goal from Seedorf and Pippo, that was also a tough task. We’ll try, that’s for sure. There will be no judgement on Seedorf. He’s the coach that we have chosen.”Finally at today's UEFA banquet, Galliani had this to say: "I’ve got a good feeling about the weather, but we shall see about the match. We’ll try and make history. We’ve got a great history that I hope will help us tonight. Our history is extraordinary, I think it has to be worth something. Yesterday I only had dinner with Florentino. I only sense that spring is in the air. We only spoke about basketball because he’ll be in Milan for the Final 4 of the Euro League.”
