Here are AC Milan Coach Filippo Inzaghi declarations after the Serie A Week 5 game Cesena 1 – 1 AC Milan on Sunday 28 September 2014 at the Dino Manuzzi Stadium in Cesena, Italy.

Inzaghi saying to Milan Channel, “We had a good first-half, and then in the second-half we weren’t as compact but we played good football. We know where we have to improve, we’ll try and improve on where we went wrong. However, the desire is there and it wasn’t missing. You can see what happens to sides that have been working with the same coach for years, we’re still at the initial stages. We wanted to take home 3 points and we’re taking home just 1, but next Saturday we’re back playing at the San Siro in front of our fans, let’s hope we can give them the gift of a victory. Perhaps we overstretched ourselves in the second half because of the drop in our fitness. I was putting on fresh legs to try and win the match, but then we went down to 10 men and I couldn’t put on El Shaarawy for Honda. The point is good. At times you risk losing these matches.”

During the press conference, Inzaghi declaring, “I prefer not to talk about referees. There are some dubious decisions. It’s hard to be a referee or a linesman and at the end of the year the errors will even themselves out.

We played well in the first half and I am satisfied. We could have even ended the first half in the lead for our good play, but then we were no longer as compact and we lost our way.

We then went down to 10 men and when you’re in 10 you also risk losing so let’s take away the excellent first-half. We’ve seen that other teams struggle too and sides that have been with the same coach for many years have the same number of points as us.

We struggled a bit in the second half because we used up more energy than Cesena. In the first half we were very tight, we won back every clearance. We will have to do what we did in the first half for an entire match.

This playing system becomes an alternative to the 4-3-3 and that is helping us do some good things. I want to try and entertain and playing like this we entertain our fans. I know that 4 forwards are hard for the team to support, but when you have lots of quality upfront it’s only right to take advantage of it.

We’re the best attack in the league along with Inter and we have to continue like this. The pitch is a very good one, and it seems to me that some good football was played on it so that’s fine.

I haven’t spoken to the President yet, but I believe he will be happy. When we thought about winning, we went down to 10 men, but this is football. We have to keep on working.

Abbiati is an excellent goalkeeper who saved us on many occasions. I don’t know if the synthetic pitch in the goal that we conceded created a problem. However, we shouldn’t look for scapegoats. We know we’re not perfect and I have to be good along with my assistants in helping the squad grow.”
