MILAN – An important milestone in the world of Milan’s social networks: the Rossoneri’s official Twitter account has reached the two million follower mark.
Second-top brand overall in Italy and the only Serie A club in the top 10 European ranking in terms of followers, Milan has reinforced its presence in the world of digital communication, which already included over 22 million fans on Facebook, over 300 thousand on Instagram, 226 thousand members on the official Youtube channel and 3.7 million fans on Google+.
Active since November, 2010, and more than 29 thousand tweets, @acmilan informs the world daily of events at the club, the players and the management via exclusive news, photos and videos. In 2012 a separate account dedicated to the youth sector was opened, @acmilanyouth, which now has reached almost 46 thousand followers.
Barbara Berlusconi was delighted with the latest digital success, “We are proud to celebrate reaching two million followers on Twitter. This milestone backs up the club’s digital strategy, which is aimed at reducing the gap between followers the world over, distant but united in one great love, Milan.”
