MILAN – The Round 23 Serie A lunch-time match between Milan-Empoli has ended 1-1. Destro broke the deadlock on 40 minutes for the rossoneri, his first ever goal with the Milan jersey. Poli and Bonaventura also came close in the first-half.
In the second half, it was a very close affair but it was the away side that scored the second goal of the game to equalise on 68 minutes through a Maccarone header. Milan reacted positively though and came close at the other end with a headed effort from Destro which he couldn’t quite keep on target.
Things were then complicated for Milan on 84 minutes when Diego Lopez was handed a red card for handling outside of the penalty area. Paletta then had to go off with an injury, but Milan resisted despite their numerical disadvantage.
