SERIE A MEETING, PRESIDENT ABETE: “a positive meeting”

MILAN – A meeting was held today between referees, managers, captains and coaches in Serie A. The meeting took place in Milan at the Hotel Michelangelo in which the statistics of the first part of the season referring to penalties, offside, bookings and so on were presented and compared to the other European football leagues.The President of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) Giancarlo Abete had the following to say: “It was a positive meeting in which the ability to read the emotional aspect of what goes on during and after the match came to the surface. The new rules on offside? They’ve had an effect, the rule is complex but the professional debate is important and football is great because it isn’t an exact science.”
