AC Milan making their debut in the Guinness International Champions Cup wit a defeat against Greek league team Olympiacos on Thursday 24 July 2014 at the BMO Field  Stadium in New York.   AC Milan coach  Filippo Inzaghi suffering  his first defeat as coach with Milan in International competition.  Surely, not the ideal  result not only for the team, but neither for the AC Milan fans in the United States who went to see  the game looking for a  revival.     Olympiacos scoring three goals by  Alejandro  Dominguez, Dimitris Diamantakos and Andreas Bouchalakis.

Fans expecting to see forward Mario Balotelli playing who was in the tribune watching the game.  The chant for “We want Balo” went blank, but  appreciated by Balotelli.    Simply put, AC Milan  forwards Giampaolo Pazzini and Stephan El Shaarawy were unable to pull Milan bandwagon.  Something still not working with this Milan.  Let’s not panic and keep faith to see a better team in the next game against Manchester City on Sunday 27 July.  Will Milan end this negative nightmare?

AC Milan Olympiacos are in Group B along Premier League teams Manchester City and Liverpool.

Here is the thing.  The game went down hill since the 16th minute when Alejandro Dominguez unmarked opened the score accommodating the ball with his chest to then deliver a right footed shot defeating AC Milan goalkeeper Gabriel in the left corner and leaving him on the ground.  The right footed  assist by Mathieu Dossevi.

Far from AC Milan reacting, it is Olympiacos again to increase the score.  In the 49th minute a left footed shot from the distance by Diamantakos who got the pass from Masuaku.  AC Milan goalkeeper Gabriel  not even enough time to react, but just turned his head to observe the ball going inside the net in the left corner.

AC Milan coach making 3 substitutions replacing goalkeeper Gabriel in the 62nd minute with goalkeeper Agazzi, replacing defender Daniele Bonera with defender Philippe Mexes, and replacing  defender Adil Rami with Alex.

In the 76th minute, AC Milan making 2 more changes.  Midfielder Andrea Poli is replaced by Mastalli and forward Keisuke Honda takes the place of Niang.

In the 78th minute, another slap!  There comes the goal by Bouchalakis with a left footed shot from about 40 meters defeating AC Milan goalkeeper Agazzi in the top right corner.

Changes did not work for Inzaghi…

It’s clear that at this point, Inzaghi still need to find his ideal squad and rebuild the winner mentality of the great AC Milan.  Will he do it before the Serie A kickoff? That’s the question.
