Last week AC Milan faced Sassuolo in the Serie A Week 18 ending with a 1-1 draw. Today AC Milan avenging the result defeating Sassuolo thanks to the winner goal by midfielder Nigel De Jong. AC Milan qualifying to the Coppa Italia Quarterfinal against the winner of the game Torino vs Lazio. Sassuolo are now eliminated.
AC Milan opening the score in the 38th minute with forward Giampaolo Pazzini defeating Sassuolo goalkeeper Pomini. The assist is by forward Alessio Cercia coming from the right.
Referee Tommasi ruling out a headed goal to Sassuolo because Vrsajlko was offside before ending the first half.
Second half starting with AC Milan making a substitution in the 45th minute . Defender Daniele Bonera replacing defender De Sciglio.
Sassuolo equalizing the score in the 64th minute. Referee Tommasi gives a penalty to Sassuolo conceded by AC Milan defender Cristian Zapata after a foul on Pavoletti. It is forward Nicola Sansone to convert the penalty defeating AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati with a right footed shot. Zapata gets a yellow card.
It is AC Milan midfielder Nigel De Jong to break the draw in the 86th minute giving the rossoneri the victory. De Jong defeating Sassuolo goalkeeper with a right footed shoted
Sassuolo making a double substitution in the 87th minute. Forwards Domenico Berardi and Antonio Floro Flores replacing Chibsah and Nicola Sansone.
