Como faced a defeat in the Serie A Week 19 match on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, held at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium in Como, Italy. After two draws at home, Milan bounced back to secure a victory in Serie A. This win allows Milan to surpass Bologna, who will be playing against Inter tomorrow, moving them up to seventh in the standings, just five points shy of fourth-placed Lazio, although they have a game in hand. Como’s run of positive results comes to an end at two, having not lost since their match against Inter on December 23. Fabregas’ squad remains in sixteenth place with 19 points, tied with Parma and Verona, and one point ahead of third-from-bottom Cagliari.
This game marks the first of three rescheduled matches involving the four teams that participated in the Italian Super Cup, which AC Milan claimed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It will be Sergio Conceiçao’s first away game in the league, having started his Milan coaching career with two victories before settling for a draw against Cagliari in his league debut last Saturday.
Como took the initiative in the 60th minute when Assane Diao found the back of the net with a left-footed shot aimed at the bottom right corner. The goal was set up by Maxence Caqueret, who delivered a pass to the former Betis player. Diao then made his way into the area on his left foot and fired a shot towards the near post, which Maignan couldn’t get to in time.
