PHILIPPE MEXES TO MILAN CHANNEL: “WE MUST STAND UP”

MILAN – Here are the statements made exclusively to Milan Channel by Philippe Mexes at Milanello:

“We have to take the good things from the game with Fiorentina, unfortunately it went badly in the end and we dropped off too much despite the skill of the other team. We have seen a purposeful Milan who has tried to play the ball. We are Milan and we must continue on that road. We dropped off too much and we tried to defend, but then there was a lack of confidence and a bit of fear after the goal we conceded against Verona at the end of the game. We have to stand up, there are 33 points to play for and we have to take them. It is a difficult championship for everyone. We must try to win from Saturday onwards. Is Europe possible? Yes it is the main aim, Milan cannot stay out of Europe. Conceding four goals in two games may seem that we are in trouble, but it is not the feeling that we have in the pitch, in some situations we lack a bit of strength and determination and we are used to not conceding goals. We must not concede goals because we know we can score them. We are only interested in our own game but we need everyone, those coming off the bench, we are a team and we are all in this together, those who play and those who don’t.”
