MILAN – One match, two memorable moments, all it happened on this day, the 7 February 1960.
The occasion was Milan-Alessandria in round 18 of Serie A and with the score at 2-0 in Milan’s favour, Altafini added a third in what was also the Rossoneri’s 3000th goal in club history. But there was more to come and on 86 minutes a young Rivera pulled one back for the visitors. It would prove to be his only goal in official matches against Milan for whom he would spend the rest of his career, going on to earn legendary status. Final score: Milan-Alessandria 3-1.
