That day, the 5th of October 2003, Milan took on Inter at the San Siro in the Milanese derby. A packed house and the derby atmosphere seemed to do the Brazilian the world of good and in just his 4th appearance in Serie A with the rossoneri, he scored a header after an assist from Gattuso on 46 minutes.
