MILAN – Oliver Bierhoff, a former Milan and Udinese player, and currently a manager for the Germany Football Federation, spoke to the Milan Channel ahead of Saturday’s Serie A fixture at the Friuli which brings together his two former teams:

“I have great memories attached to Milan, in my first season we won the Scudetto right away. Milan is a big city, there is a lot of enthusiasm, playing at the San Siro is a real thrill. I remember that when I played for Udinese I scored two goals against Milan and made a goal-line clearance. Capello always reminds me how different things could have been in that match! This Saturday will be a great match. At Udinese they are always very capable in discovering new talents. The atmosphere there helps a lot, it’s calm and you can focus on playing matters. Foreign players can grow with no pressure, it’s harder in cities like Milan, Turin and Rome. German football was reborn thanks to a programme of investment in training coaches and players. It is this way that we created lots of top players”.
