MILANELLO – The rossoneri held their third training session of pre-season on Sunday morning at Milanello.

There was a fantastic reception for the players as they headed out for training on the outer pitch to the cheers and applause of around 1000 fans.

After a warm-up, running and stretching, the squad moved onto passing drills over 3 work stations followed by a possession exercise of 5 v 5 with 6 free-floating players; 2 in the middle of the pitch and 4 at the far end.

Following that, the session focused on fitness with running at various speeds and intensities before going back to working with the ball and another possession drill 6 v 6 with 3 free floating players.

The session came to a close with further fitness work and running.

Individuals: Montolivo and Antonelli took part in some of the exercises with the rest of the squad and some apart based on their respective training programmes and needs.

Niang, Menez, Paletta and Cerci worked out in the gym.

The squad are now free and can go home. From Monday though, pre-season preparations will get into full swing and the playing squad will stay over at Milanello and have daily double training sessions. This phase of pre-season will last until the 20th of July.
