MEMORABLE MOMENT. Milan-Palermo 2-1. Season 2005/06. Round 8. The relief of Carlo Ancelotti and Filippo Inzaghi as the two men embraced each other after the striker’s winning goal sums up the difficulties that the rossoneri had to overcome to take away a hard earned 3 points. Del Neri’s side took the lead after 28 minutes through Caracciolo only for Gattuso to score the equaliser one minute later with a splendid left-foot lob. Milan would have to suffer however and it wasn’t until the 78th minute that Super Pippo secured a vital win for morale and the league table, running straight to the dug-out to celebrate with his coach.
