MEMORABLE MOMENT: Milan-Empoli 3-1. Season 2006/07. Round 31. A Milan side that was marching its way to the Champions League on the European front, welcomed Cagni’s Empoli to the San Siro in Serie A. After just 13 minutes, Ronaldo broke the deadlock for the rossoneri in trademark fashion, breaking away and unleashing a fierce left foot strike. Saudati equalised for the away side on 43 minutes, but the scores were level for just 1 minute as Gilardino restored Milan’s lead with an acrobatic effort.
