MILAN COACHES: THE PRECEDENTS

MILAN – Clarence Seedorf is the fifth former Milan player to become coach during the Silvio Berlusconi era. Two of these coaches took charge for the first time in the Italian Cup and three made their debut on the bench in Serie A.Fabio Capello’s first match in charge was the 8 April 1986 Parma-Milan 0-0 in the Italian Cup. Carlo Ancelotti’s first match was also in the Italian Cup on the 13 November 2001 Milan-Perugia 3-0. Arrigo Sacchi never played for Milan but coached Milan for the first time in the Italian Cup on the 23 August 1987, Milan-Bari 5-0.First matches in Serie A:Cesare Maldini the 18 March 2001 Milan-Bari 4-0.Leonardo the 22 August 2009: Siena-Milan 1-2.Clarence Seedorf yesterday evening: Milan-Verona 1-0.
